Macadamia integrifolia - MACADAMIA

The tree can grow in its endemic range to 15m but i have one in my front yard at Phillip Island, and after 6 years it's up to my knees.


The seed is eaten when the outer fruit coating splits.  Inside will be a hard shell. Crack this open to eat the seed inside (Macadamia nut).  Can be eaten raw or roasted with seasonings.

Rainforests of Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
